AMERICUS, GA (June 29, 2022) – The Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers (RCI) is pleased to announce the John and Betty Pope Caregivers Scholarship recipients for the 2022-2023 academic year. The scholarship is awarded to full-time students at Georgia Southwestern State University, who are providing care for a friend or loved one or pursuing a career related to caregiving. Those who apply seek to alleviate the financial burdens students may face, while advancing the field of caregiving.
Started in 1995 by the late John and Betty Pope, the John and Betty Pope Caregivers Scholarship is designed to support students engaged in informal caregiving roles, while helping them learn about the importance of caregiving and ultimately reach their higher education goals.

The impact of their generosity is immeasurable and RCI is forever grateful for their support. We are honored to have the opportunity to award yearly scholarships to students at Georgia Southwestern State University and look forward to working with this new group of awardees,” said Dr. Jennifer Olsen, chief executive officer of the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers.
