The Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers (RCI) is partnering with Reimagine for a transformative series of virtual events: “Cultivating Caregiving: Seeds of Sorrow, Gardens of Growth.” The three-part series that explores the challenges and joys of caregiving and its intersection with adversity, loss, grief, and mortality—topics at the center of Reimagine’s web-based, community-driven experiences.
“As we live longer, health and care systems become increasingly centered at home and in the community. Integrating access to culturally adapted services can be complicated. This makes RCI’s purpose crucial now more than ever,” said Paurvi Bhatt, president and chief impact officer at the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers. “Our founder, the former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, recognized the importance of inclusion in caregiving when she famously said, ‘there are only four kinds of people in the world: those who have been caregivers, those who are currently caregivers, those who will be caregivers, and those who will need caregivers.’ With our diverse backgrounds and unique lived experiences, each of us represents these four kinds of people that Mrs. Carter so tirelessly advocated for throughout her life, and we are eager to elevate these stories through this compelling series of conversations.”
RCI is committed to advancing equitable systems and inclusive communities where all family caregivers are recognized, supported, and fully integrated into public health strategies.
“At Reimagine, we are committed to transforming life’s challenges into meaning and growth, and caregivers are a community from whom we have so much to learn,” said Brad Wolfe, Reimagine founder and executive director. “Caregivers demonstrate for us every day what it means to reimagine loss, overcome adversity, and channel grief into something positive, which is why we are proud and excited to bring our network together with the Rosalynn Carter Institute’s incredible community of caregivers.”
