OUR WORK

Data Platform

Data is critical to helping the world understand the depth and need of issues. Caregiving is no different. What we can see – through quantifiable and qualitative data points – we can change.

Critical Data, For All

We know changing systems needs transparency and use of reliable data. That is why RCI has created a first-of-its-kind data platform focusing on three core pillars: RCI’s own data, external research data, and perspectives from caregivers themselves.  We know that data across various sources, sectors, and systems, available for analysis will drive solutions that can improve and sustain impact – both within RCI and across the caregiving landscape. This data can build an understanding of the characteristics and unique needs of caregivers, the interventions that have been proven effective, and determine intersections with social determinants of health.

Pillar 1: RCI Data

We compiled data from across RCI’s 37-year history, across a broad portfolio of programs that have delivered tremendous results, insights, and impact. This platform makes this data available to any organization serving family caregivers regardless of sector, system, or industry.

Pillar 2: Research Data

Critical to successfully understand family caregivers’ needs is to ensure access to smaller datasets at local and community-based levels. To provide data to researchers that is typically absent from larger, national data sets on family caregivers, we have built a data pillar that is a repository for smaller, localized datasets.

Typically created by universities or community-based organizations, this data extends beyond the medical issues that typically receive attention to include issues like housing and public safety. Making this data more broadly available allows the caregiving sector – to be more effective and united.

Pillar 3: Caregiver Pulse

We put the expertise family caregivers at the center of everything we do and center in our efforts receiving the real-time engagement with family caregivers on their needs, challenges, and where they see opportunities for systems change. There platforms providing online support and connection that organically engage and build community.

We leverage the information shared on these platforms to draw out themes that inform our work. This allows us to hear directly from family caregivers about their questions, frustrations, and progress – which our team uses to guide and direct their work.
