RCI to Mark National Caregivers Day with #ThankACaregiver

AMERICUS, GA – The Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving will mark National Caregivers Day on Friday, February 21, 2020 by thanking caregivers across its social media channels with the hashtag, #ThankACaregiver. The idea for National Caregivers Day was originally championed by the Providers Association for Home Health & Hospice Agencies.

All it takes is a phone call, a handwritten note or a post to a social media account to show gratitude to a caregiver for their tireless commitment to their loved ones in need of caregiving support.

Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter often reminds us that caregiving is an isolating experience. By recognizing the dedication of a caregiver with a heartfelt thank you, we are signaling they aren’t alone and are appreciated for all they do.

Please consider sharing your story, a photo and word of thanks on social media and include #ThankACaregiver and tag @RCICaregiving.

The Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers has formally merged with The Carter Center, now functioning under its Mental Health Program.

By uniting the work of these organizations — both rooted in Mrs. Carter’s lifelong vision and leadership — we are taking concrete steps to expand support, champion policies, and develop innovative solutions for the millions of family caregivers who dedicate their lives to caring for loved ones.

Together, we will ensure that caregivers and individuals facing mental health challenges are seen, heard, and supported — now and in the future.
