Statement from Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers on the Passing of President Jimmy Carter

AMERICUS, GA – Paurvi Bhatt and Jennifer Olsen, co-leaders of the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers, today released the following statement on the passing of former President Jimmy Carter:

“Today, we mourn the loss of a great man, leader, and humanitarian. Our prayers are with the entire Carter family during this difficult time, having lost two incredible trailblazers who made a difference in communities all over the world, and in the lives of all they met.

“Alongside his beloved late wife and trusted advisor – our founder, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter – President Jimmy Carter embodied empathy and compassion as he elevated the stories of tens of millions of American caregivers and advanced our mission to create a world where every caregiver is seen, heard, and supported.

“President Carter lived a full and rich life dedicated to public service, faith, and family. And while we grieve this loss, we also remember and celebrate a love for the ages. The love President and Mrs. Carter shared was genuine and based on mutual respect and devotion. They were true partners. In life and in death, they modeled for us all what it means to be a person of great dignity, compassion, and love.

“President Carter once said, ‘I have one life and one chance to make it count for something.’ He made every moment of his life count, and we are eternally grateful.”
