Georgia Care-Net

The Georgia Care-Net Coalition was formed in 1990, when the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers recognized a need for engagement and collaboration between professional and family caregivers.

Care-Nets are regional coalitions throughout the state of Georgia that bring together family caregivers and the agencies who serve them.

The coalition has continued to identify the need for caregiver education to address areas in: problem solving, caring for yourself, managing stress, and care management. Care-Nets are comprised of community leaders, family and professional caregivers, and professionals in the areas of healthcare, mental health, education, ministry, business, and government. Consider joining a local Georgia Care-Net to share your knowledge of caregiving issues, learn about community resources available for caregivers, and advocate for improved caregiver resources.

Care-Nets are sponsored by their local Area Agency on Aging and meet regularly to:

  • Identify and assess community caregiving strengths and needs
  • Work for improved caregiver recognition and support in Georgia
  • Provide a forum to explore opportunities to learn and work together
  • Plan events that provide caregiver education and training
  • Educate the community about caregiving
  • Promote initiatives to ensure quality care in their local communities
